Summary:

Lewis University’s Department of Music seeks an adjunct violin instructor beginning August 2026. The instructor will teach applied violin to majors and non-majors and actively engage in recruiting for their studio. Salary is competitive to other adjunct positions in area, and additional classroom teaching opportunities may become available.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach one or more classes
  • Availability to hold office hours and meet with other faculty members, department chair, or directors when necessary
  • Serve as a model of professionalism and act as a resource for students within the teaching-learning environment.

  • Qualifications:

    Required:
  • Masters degree or significant professional experience is required.
  • Strong commitment to teaching and recruitment.
  • Ability to teach beginner to advanced students.

  • Desirable:
  • College teaching experience.
  • Active performing career.
  • Experience with improvisation.
  • Experience teaching jazz and popular music performance styles.
