Tom Drake | Jazz Band


Tom Drake Thomas J. Drake has been Musical Director of the Lewis University Jazz Ensemble and the Lewis University Wind Ensemble since 1995. He is also the Musical Director and Conductor for the Joliet American Legion Band in Joliet, Illinois.

He has taught Graduate Seminar and Conducting classes at Vander Cook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Drake is past Vice-President of the Mid-America Competing Band Directors Association, a clinician/conductor for the Illinois All-State District Band Festival, guest conductor for the Mid-East National Band Association Clinic in Norfolk, Virginia and various clinician/conductor positions throughout the Mid-West. A life-long resident of the Joliet/Lockport area, Mr. Drake has been a member of the Joliet Junior College Community Band, as well as the Chairman of the Music Department and Band Director at Romeoville High School in Romeoville, Illinois. He has performed with the Buddy Rich Band, T.T. Nelson's Big Band, The Jay Mau Orchestra, the Del Bergeson Orchestra, and Tom Fox's Brass Tracks Jazz Orchestra. Tom is also President of Drake Aviation, Inc., based at Lewis University airport.
