Andrea McStay | Violin


Andrea (Withers) McStay is an active performer and violin teacher in the Chicago area. As an experienced chamber and orchestral musician, she is a founding member of the Sveltezza Ensemble and Volare Trio. Her orchestral experience includes serving as concertmaster for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra for three seasons, and performing with Symphony of the Lakes and Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. She has attended various summer music programs including MasterWorks Festival, Southern Illinois University Music Festival, Bob Jones University Music Camps, and Kankakee Valley Piano Camp. Andrea maintains a private teaching studio at her home, and has also provided private and group instruction at Bristol Grove Music, MOSAIC Enrichment, Midwest Homeschool Fine Arts, and Joliet Area Suzuki Strings. She has received teacher training in the Suzuki Method at the Chicago Suzuki Institute and Western Springs School of Talent Education.

Andrea studied music at Lewis University, Joliet Junior College, and Grace College, leading to the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Music Merchandising from Lewis University.
