Dear Parents and Prospective Students,
Welcome to Lewis University's Community Music School! Whether you are an
aspiring performer or simply an enthusiast, Lewis offers great
opportunities to utilize your artistic talents. From private studio
study to chamber and symphonic ensembles, we are certain you will find
the CMS to be a great place to further your musical pursuits.
Private Studio Lessons are offered on half and full hour basis in every
instrument with a member of our talented and dedicated music faculty.
Esteemed performers and established pedagogues in their fields, our
teachers will work with you individually to help you achieve your
musical goals. CMS recitals are held up to multiple times a semester,
allowing you to put your practice and hard work to the test with a solo
performance in the Charles Ives Hall.
We also accept chamber groups for private coachings! If you are a member
of a pre-existing chamber ensemble of any kind, Saturday programs are
now forming to provide individual group sessions with a faculty member
of your choice. Performance opportunities will also be made
throughout the year.
Lewis University is proud to be home to the Metropolitan Youth Symphony
Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Lawrence Sisk, Chair of the Music
Department. A full symphony orchestra, MYSO offers great orchestral
training for high school and college musicians with performances at both
Lewis University's Philip Lynch Theater and a Joliet Junior College. For
more information, visit the MYSO website at:

At the Lewis Community Music School, we are constantly at work to bring
you the best in musical education. We hope you will join us in
continuing to make Lewis a great place for artistic possibility!
Sincerely,
Casey McGrath, Coordinator
